#13 Kentucky Women’s Basketball bounces back after a tough loss on the road at #4 South Carolina to win in front of a big crowd at Memorial against the #22 Tennessee Volunteers 80-76. This takes Kentucky to 12-2 overall and 1-1 in SEC play. The Cats shot 13 of 27 from the 3-point line (48.1%) which came up huge in the long run. KeKe McKinney had an all-around solid game before she fouled out late in the game and finished with 8 points, 2 of 2 from behind the arch, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist. Sabrina Haines had another great game as her leadership is valuable to Kentucky and she had 11 points, 5 rebounds, 50% from behind the arch, and 4 assists. Rhyne Howard had a milestone game finishing with a career-high 37 points and had 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals, also was named ESPN’s Women’s Player of the Week. The Cats forced 21 turnovers to just their 13 turnovers. During the post game press conference KeKe McKinney and Rhyne Howard were both asked about their recruitment with Tennessee prior to choosing Kentucky, they both said they both got their last offers from Tennessee. KeKe also said even though it was a dream to attend Tennessee she is where she is supposed to be and loves her team. I guess you could say their loss was our gain, right? The Cats will face the Roll Tide in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on Thursday at 8:00 PM ET and can be found on the SECNetwork.
